Guest Sitting Room
Relax and curl up on the luxurious leather lounge suite in front of the cosy wood fire in winter or, with the sun streaming in during summer. The sitting room is for guests use only and is a lovely spot to read a book, watch TV, Sky Sport Now and Netflix, or enjoy afternoon tea or an aperitif on your arrival. The large fireplace has a beautiful wooden surround and mantle and is flanked by a bookcase with a large selection of books.
Guest Dining Room
Sumptuous breakfasts and casual or formal dinners are served in this elegant formal dining room. The rich red of the wallpaper and a cosy fire gives warmth to the room on a cold winter’s day. Two sets of French doors open out onto the veranda, which make it an ideal room for inside and outside entertaining, barbeques in summer, alfresco breakfasts on the veranda and taking advantage of the long summer evenings.
Landscape
Tairoa Lodge, an 1875 Victorian villa is surrounded by towering Kauri, copper beech, rhododendron and camellia trees. The beautiful landscape allows privacy from the main road, and when you travel down the winding drive through the giant bamboo and towering trees you arrive at your destination nestled amongst the park-like grounds. Spacious lawns, rose gardens and an outdoor swimming pool surround Tairoa Lodge. A stroll through the garden takes you to Tairoa Church Hall, Tairoa Cottage or The Gatehouse. Tairoa Lodge garden is proud to be awarded a ‘Garden of Significance’ from New Zealand Gardens Trust.
